Regenerative Medicine: How Stem Cells Can Extend Your Healthspan with Dr. Yi Song
Root Cause Medicine
Welcome back to the show. Our guest brings together two worlds that are rarely combined at this level, ancient healing wisdom and cutting-edge regenerative medicine. Dr. Yi Song was raised in Beijing in a 17th-generation medical family before training in pathology at Brown University becoming a leader in regenerative and holistic medicine.
She is the Founder of Zenerchi Health and the Zenerchi Retreat in Colombia, where she worked with advanced stem cell therapies, traditional Chinese medicine, anti-aging science, and personalized healing approaches designed to help people extend not just lifespan, but health span. In this conversation, we explore the future of regenerative medicine, the promise and controversy surrounding stem cell therapy, what ancient Chinese medicine aging thousands of years ago, and how prevention, balance, and root cause healing may hold the keys to living longer, healthier, more vibrant lives. Please enjoy this fascinating conversation with Dr. Song.

Dr. Song, Thank you so much for being with us. You have such a fascinating and interesting story and journey that you’ve lived. I’m excited to dive into all of that and hear from you and learn from you about the amazing regenerative therapies and everything else that you’re doing in the aging and longevity space. You’re such a wealth of knowledge and a mixture of worlds, it seems like. I’m excited to unpack all of that with you. Thanks for being with us.
I’m very happy to share whatever I can contribute to your community and your show.
Great. You make sure that I have all this right. You grew up in a 17th generation medical family in Beijing? Is that right? You’re the seventeenth generation in a row of healers, doctors, physicians, and that sort of thing.
Yes.
This is like in your genes. It’s in your DNA, to be a healer.
Even when I was six years old, I always wanted to do something in medicine.
It’s a calling for you, it sounds like.
Also, it’s because I saw my grandmother suffering a lot in her later ages. type two diabetes. She didn’t take care of herself properly when she was having diabetes in her 40s and 50s. She had a lot of complications in her seventies and eighties. She passed away at age 84, I believe.
You have your own unique story of how that’s impacted you, I’m sure. You grew up in Beijing. You have this seventeen-generation family tradition, then you moved across the world to go to college at Brown University. That’s a huge merging of worlds, would you say?
I will say that. At that time, I wanted to come to the United States to study pathology because I wanted to learn the fundamental mechanism of disease. I always knew that if you want to treat any disease, you have to treat the root cause. Once you can address the root cause, that’s how you can solve people’s suffering. That’s why at that time I thought studying pathology would solve the fundamental root cause of disease, so I could solve a lot of suffering and relieve people from degenerative conditions related to aging.
I would love to dive into some of that with you. You talk a lot about prevention, regeneration, and regenerative therapies. Your mother had an experience with stem cell therapy as well. Is that what led you down this path to dive into stem cell therapies as well?
I always wanted to help people and also help people relieve suffering from aging-related conditions, even back 25 years ago. However, I didn’t know anything about stem cells until five years ago. While studying pathology and doing research, I was also involved in studying DNA, molecular biology of cells, and cell signaling. I understand all these things. However, at that time, 25 years ago, it was not prevalent to study stem cells yet.
Treat your body like a garden, not a machine. Growth requires nourishment and the right environment.
The Promise of Stem Cells
A few years ago, since I already had the retreat in Colombia and was introduced to a lab in Colombia, they have been growing stem cells from umbilical cords from donors. I went to their lab and looked at how they grow the cells. That’s how I got introduced to stem cell treatment using umbilical cord stem cells. The lab-expanded umbilical cord stem cells cannot be used in the United States for clinical applications.
Right around that time, my mom also had some conditions for which we had been trying many different therapies, but we couldn’t make any improvement. Since I was introduced to stem cells, after studying their function and how they act once inside the body when used in clinical application, I thought about the mechanism and why my mom had that condition, which was in her lower leg with poor circulation. I believe many seniors suffer from poor circulation in the legs, and if they have certain vein insufficiency, that can cause a lot of inflammation.
The mesenchymal stem cells from the umbilical cord have a unique property of reducing inflammation once inside the human body, and it’s well studied. The mechanism why they help reduce inflammation is not well understood. However, since I knew it could reduce inflammation based on what the research papers discussed, I thought, “Let’s try it.” Since my mom has inflammation in her lower leg, if it could not be resolved by itself or with any therapies, she would eventually develop an ulcer and require amputation.
This is something a certain percentage of seniors eventually experience, leading them to stay in a wheelchair for the rest of their lives after amputation. I don’t want my mom to go down that route. I thought, “Let’s try this.” Amazingly, after only one treatment, her inflammation was reduced by 90%. That’s why I got into stem cell treatment because it can help many people when they don’t have other solutions for their conditions. Especially seniors suffering from many degenerative conditions and chronic inflammation.
That’s why I started to promote stem cell treatments to people. During the process, I also realized that, first, this type of treatment is not approved in most countries worldwide. It’s experimental. Second, most Western medicine basically don’t even want to talk about it because they think it’s not proven. They would rather use traditional cortisone injections, joint replacement, and surgery to treat all these degenerative conditions. Because of all these things going on, people who are looking into treatments to help their conditions are also confused because they don’t know whom to listen to. Also, it’s because these things are not regulated or approved.
There are also bad actors in the field that can cause damage to people who received treatments. They wanted to try the treatment, and then they had very bad experiences, such as infections. Some people even had bad consequences like going blind. Also, some people would develop tumors a few years after the stem cell injection because they were not using pure mesenchymal stem cells.
That’s the other thing we can talk about: there are different types of stem cells, not just one type. That’s why all these things become obstacles, even when trying to tell people, “You can benefit from this.” However, people will have doubts, or they listen to other people, their doctor friends, who say, “I cannot do this because of this.”
Eastern vs. Western Philosophies
Let’s talk about the differences between Western medicine and Eastern medicine. You’re someone who merges those two worlds uniquely. Most people are experts in one or the other. You have seventeen generations, plus studying at Brown University and practicing here in the West for 25 plus years. How do you see the differences? You mentioned one. Many Western physicians will say, “It’s not proven and not regulated. I’m going to go with the cortisone shot or surgery and things like that.”
What are some of the other primary differences when you think about traditional Eastern medicine versus Western medicine? It seems that in Western medicine practices, we are focused more on treating diseases after symptoms arise. Perhaps in Eastern practices, it’s more about finding those imbalances before a disease or symptoms present themselves.
You’re spot on. Did you read my book beforehand?
I have a little bit of knowledge of your book, too. That’s helpful. Can you help break that down for us and explain some of those differences, and then how you merge them to truly get to the root cause treatments?
I already mentioned the reason I was always into medicine was because I always wanted to treat the root cause. Back then, I did not understand how to treat the root cause or which approach was better. That’s why I had to experience Western medicine first. I realized Western medicine is only based on symptoms. They are only reactive systems and oriented only to disease and they are treating the imbalance before any symptoms can arise.
Western medicine treats the symptom. Ancient wisdom treats the root cause. Why not merge them?
Eastern philosophy or the approaches based on Chinese medicine always talk about early prevention. However, that does not mean everybody in China practices early prevention because nowadays, most people in China do not do early prevention. They’re even worse than the Western community. Since I was growing up with my aunt doing a lot of Chinese medicine treatment and also having qigong masters visiting her, since she needed many therapies.
I was always into the Eastern philosophy about treating the person as a whole, instead of dissecting them into parts and systems and only treating isolated system symptoms. This philosophy looks at the whole body to find the root cause and sometimes when you have shoulder pain. It may not just be a musculoskeletal problem. It can be something telling you your body is not nourishing your body well. That’s why it shows up as shoulder pain.
In that sense, we do not just treat the shoulder pain. If you only treat the shoulder pain, that’s only for the symptom. That doesn’t make the whole body nourishment to your whole body’s joints and muscles well, then you will have some other musculoskeletal symptoms popping up later if you do not address the root cause. That’s the difference between Western medicine and Eastern medicine philosophies.
Eastern medicine is more metaphysical and always looks at the human body as a whole system. This whole system is connected to the universe, energy, and the Earth. That’s why in any Eastern longevity practice, we want to connect our body to nature, instead of isolating it and thinking that as long as we use advanced Western medicine technologies, we will be able to prolong our life and health span. If you isolate your body from the environment we are in, you’re not able to achieve optimal health.
That’s super interesting, and something you have obviously had much experience with. Can you tell us about some of the things you’re doing? I would love to learn more about your retreat center in Colombia and the things you have in place there to help people experience what you have described. Can you tell us about some of those practices and things that could be helpful for us to connect?
Connecting to Nature
For example, many people talk about grounding and earthing, which is related to connecting your body to the universal energy and the Earth. The reason I was so intrigued by this place in Colombia is that before I got to Colombia in 2017, I had no idea that I wanted to build something there. It was purely by chance, but I felt the energy when I was here the first time. I liked the energy.
That’s why everybody should focus on how they can have an environment that nourishes their body instead of just staying inside concrete buildings, isolating their body from nature. I find when people come here to do stem cell treatment, after the treatment, they can have more connection to nature and the universal energy. That also helps them heal faster after the stem cell treatment and can enhance the effects of the stem cell.
I’ve learned quite a bit about grounding and energy. Can you explain how that works for our readers in terms of this flow of electrons that comes off the surface of the Earth and then flows through our bodies and helps eradicate those free radicals that are floating around and causing inflammation and other damage for us?
One hallmark of aging is chronic inflammation. Everybody has more inflammation as we age. That’s inevitable. However, we can minimize the inflammation we experience when we age. To reduce chronic inflammation related to aging, we need to do a number of things. First, we need to have a very good lifestyle, including enough deep sleep for the body to regenerate when in a deep sleep state. Additionally, we need good nutrition and eat less inflammation-inducing food, such as fried food and seed oil. These are all things we have discussed and can be found all over the internet.
On the other hand, we need to connect to nature. When we connect to nature, as you described, our body has the electrolyte current flowing from the Earth to it, and also to the air and the universe. I grew up doing Qigong and meditation due to my family’s influence. I understand that when you practice Qigong and meditation, you are also helping conduct this electric flow from the Earth to the body and the universe. You said that has the effect of reducing oxidative stress and chronic inflammation. This is basically what we’re talking about, which is why we need to go outside every day, if possible, to connect to the universal energy.
Do you recommend that when we do that, we not wear these thick-soled shoes that have all this rubber and foam and things? Doesn’t that get in the way or block that natural flow? Do you recommend going outside and being barefoot or sitting in the grass or things like that, so it’s a little bit more conductive?
Some people say that. If you can do that, that’s fine. I’m not the type of person who likes being barefoot. Even when I’m in Colombia, I don’t go barefoot that much. The most important thing about connecting your body to universal energy or to nature is to, early in the morning or in the evening, take a walk and get sunlight at dawn and dusk. That’s the most beneficial because in the morning and in the evening, the UV light is not as strong, and you get a lot of natural red light. Red light has also been studied extensively, and it helps mitochondria function. It increases energy production. That’s also a way for your body to absorb energy from nature.

We’ve had several red-light therapy experts and guests who have red light therapy beds or red-light therapy panels and utilize that technology. However, this is a natural way for us to get that just in the morning and evening. Maybe it’s not as high a dose, but it can still be very helpful, right?
Many people worry about skin cancer if the sun is too strong at noon. In the morning and in the evening, you do not need to wear sunscreen. In fact, when I’m in Colombia, I often do not wear sunscreen at all because you cannot stay outside for too long if you do not wear sunscreen at noon. You want to get the energy from the sun. The best time to avoid having UV damage is in the morning and in the evening. Red light therapy panels, red light beds, and all these things can be thousands of dollars. The easiest way to get the red light for your body and its needs is to go outside in the morning and in the evening for one hour, and that’s free.
Debunking Stem Cell Myths
There you go. I want to return to your stem cell therapy practice and what you’re doing there. You mentioned some of those misconceptions people have regarding tumors or blindness. Unfortunately, many negative consequences have occurred because, as you mentioned, people have used impure stem cells. Can you help us debunk some of those negative myths or misconceptions? You also mentioned ensuring they’re pure mesenchymal stem cells or MSCs. Can you also talk about that too?
For reported cases where individuals developed tumors after stem cell injection in the spine, most reported cases involved the use of fetal neuron cells or embryonic cells mixed with mesenchymal stem cells. Mesenchymal stem cells themselves are not tumorigenic. They will not form tumors because they are not even pluripotent. They are multipotent. This means they can only grow into certain types of cells.
It’s well studied that mesenchymal stem cells, when they enter your body, do not grow into your cartilage, bone, or similar tissues. Instead, they stimulate your body’s own stem cells to grow and repair. However, embryonic stem cells or some hematopoietic stem cells, if they contaminate the mesenchymal stem cell mixture during treatment, they can form tumors because those cells are tumorigenic.
In your clinic, you’re getting pure mesenchymal stem cells. There’s no risk of tumor or contamination. That’s probably the most important thing for people, to know where the cells being utilized are coming from.
Exactly. Many people, first, do not even know there are these different types of stem cells. Second, when people are looking into stem cell treatments in different clinics, they often are not given the right information. This is because they do not have the knowledge, even though some people say they have done so much research on their own because they want to make sure they get the right product. Sometimes, because they do not have the knowledge, they can be misled by whoever is telling them what they’re getting.
I have come across many people who received stem cell treatments from different clinics and were not even aware of how many cells were used in their treatment. Therefore, that should be the number one question you need to ask. However, how do providers administering stem cell treatment prove you receive the number they stated? That is also another important thing. For example, when we do the treatment, right before, we take a small sample from what we’re going to use for your treatment and show you on the cell counter how many cells are present.
You know for a fact that we’re not giving you less than what we tell you. Most times, we give you more than what we say we’re giving you. Also, the cell counter shows the cell viability. Because another factor is that if you receive, say, a certain number of stem cells, but only 50% of them are viable, then that means you’re only getting half of the amount, correct?
Another major issue we’re having in the United States is that because stem cells are unproven and not regulated, some clinics tell you they’re giving you stem cells, but they’re giving you what is called umbilical cord allograft. Those products can have some stem cells in them, but only a very small amount. Many people do not know that because how can you tell if they’re giving you an allograft or real stem cells? Most times, if the certificate does not mention how many stem cells they are giving you, but only that they tested their product for contamination of viruses or bacteria.
Those products are basically not pure stem cell concentrations. They can be a homogenized product from the umbilical cord, but that has only a very small amount of actual mesenchymal stem cells in them. That’s why those products are very cheap to produce. For a practitioner like me, I have talked to different suppliers and I know those types of products only cost about $150 to $500. Many clinics tell you they are giving you stem cell treatment and then charge thousands of dollars. You see, that’s where the disconnect is. Since it’s not regulated, how do regular people know?
It would be much better for all of us if this were something that became regulated. Hopefully, that’s where we’re headed.
True vitality isn’t found in lab reports. It’s found in how you feel, move, and connect with nature every single day.
It’s very difficult to say because in Korea, they have already approved the use of mesenchymal stem cells to treat osteoarthritis. In Japan, they approved treating organ transplant recipients who reject the transplanted organs and do not respond to other immunosuppressive drugs. If you regulate them, then the problem arises. Again, even the product I’m using now from the lab is not a homogenous product, so it’s very difficult to standardize. When you try to regulate, how do you regulate? That’s also another question.
It’s more complicated. It’s tricky. You can only apply it to someone who has osteoarthritis, for example, in Korea, instead of for a broader usage.
I myself do not have many problems, and I have been using stem cell treatment on myself at least 30 times in the past five years. For the most part, I was doing it for anti-aging purposes, and I want to do it early. I want to do early-stage prevention. I guess 30 years down the road, I can write a research article saying I have been doing this for the past 30 years and it’s working but it’s too early to say.
Tell us a little more about that because that’s super interesting. You have your own experience of it. What do you feel before and after? At what point do you say, “It’s time for another treatment?” Do you just do it at regimented time periods?
One main thing I was treating myself for was my knee. I have one knee that has a complete ACL tear, and I never had surgery. I just don’t want this down the road, ten years from now, to become osteoarthritis of the knee. I wanted to do early prevention. I started doing that about three years ago, but during that one-year period, I did four treatments.
It made my knee feel much more stable. I don’t feel the instability I sometimes felt when the knee was unstable and was going to dislocate because that ACL tendon is not there. After that, I didn’t have any knee pain or minor problems for three years. Earlier in 2026, I did another treatment because I started feeling a very minor knee pain when I was going up the ladder to fix something. For me, because I started doing it very early, I know as a fact that if you treat any joint problem early enough, you can definitely avoid further degeneration of the joint.
I know that as a fact because I also treated other people who treated their shoulder problem in its early stage, and they recovered much faster. Many people calling me about joint problems have already tried numerous treatments, such as cortisone injections, for years. These treatments no longer work for them, and their doctors have started telling them they need joint replacement. They think, “Maybe I should do stem cells instead of joint replacement.” That’s a little late.
In many of those cases, the stem cells can still help alleviate the pain and make your movement better. You can then perhaps prolong the time before you need a knee replacement. I don’t have the data to say it can definitely avoid a knee replacement. What I’m trying to say is, if you wait until that severe stage, when you do the stem cell treatment, you also need a longer time to heal.
If you do it at a very early stage, when your joint is still not as bad, you can recover from the stem cell treatment much faster within a few weeks, and the effect will last much longer as well. That’s why I talk about the early prevention part in my book, because that part is truly from Eastern philosophy, not from the Western medicine approach.
Getting early is the key. Are you also using more of an IV stem cell therapy for yourself just for the anti-aging benefits?
I have done the IV probably more than twenty times. I do that mainly for anti-aging purposes. I don’t have many issues, and my lifestyle, for the most part, is quite good, and I sleep very well most times. I feel when I get the IV stem cells, it mostly helps my minor chronic inflammation inside my body. This is how I know. Before I started having any stem cell treatment five years ago, since I was sixteen or eighteen years old, every single year I would have some incidence of neck pain.
It usually only happens once or twice a year. It’s related to stress or sitting at the desk, at the computer too long, all these things. Many years ago, I discovered that if I go swimming, it can minimize this type of incidence. If I go swimming, it can also help it go away faster. That’s what I was doing to address this, but it doesn’t mean it goes away.
Early prevention is the most powerful tool you have to extend your healthspan and avoid future suffering.
It still happens once or twice a year. Since I started doing stem cell IV myself maybe about three or four times a year, I found I don’t get that anymore. I no longer experience this type of incident like neck pain, muscle tightness, or muscle knots. I believe that’s because I have truly reduced the general chronic inflammation in my body, because neck pain is also a type of inflammation.
I’m sure there are many other benefits that you’re getting because stem cell exhaustion is one of the hallmarks of aging. You’re replenishing your stem cells so that your body’s functioning more like a biologically younger body.
True Vitality Beyond Labs
I never tested my biological age versus chronological age, as a lot of biohackers do. I’m not a person who is into all these testing things. That’s why in my book, I even have a quote I came up with, saying, “True vitality lives beyond lab reports.” What we can test in our lab is only what our current science knows. What we know currently is only less than 0.001% of the whole knowledge about the human body.
What we can test is very limited. Does that chronological age versus biological age a marker you can go by? I believe what we should focus on is our lifestyle, our diet, our sleep, and our daily activity. Most importantly, our emotional wellness. Naturally, people living in blue zones do not need any of these tests, and they still have a very high percentage of people living to 100 years old. What is the secret? The secret is you need to keep the flow of the energy, as we talked about earlier, inside your body, connect to nature, and have peace of mind so you do not get stressed out about many things.
If we have the technology like red light therapy, the red-light bed, we can do hyperbaric chamber, or even if you have the financial ability to get stem cell treatment, then that adds to what we already built with the foundation, proper nutrition, proper rest, and also the equanimity of the mind so that your body is not stressed out and does not have any blockage. For me, I never tested those things. However, I believe most people tell me I look like I’m in my 30s but I’m going to be in my 50s. I feel my body’s energy and the way I can do many things every day is that I have very good energy. Why do I need to test those things? I do not care about those things.
It’s more how you feel. I love that quote, “True vitality lives beyond lab reports.” It’s how we feel. Do we wake up and feel good and have purpose and energy to go do the things we want to do, or not?
Sometimes if you’re so fixated on all these test results, you’re adding stress to your life too. Sometimes, the test result is not as good as it should be. You start worrying, “What am I doing wrong?” Sometimes it’s not necessary.
Congratulations on that, by the way. As you said, turning 50s and looking like you’re in your 30s. You’re doing it. You’re living this out, and you’re practicing these things yourself. I’m curious, as you think about the future. If we have these lifestyle habits, as you just mentioned, and emotional wellness, we can reduce that chronic stress, which leads to inflammation. We can add things on top, such as these stem cell treatments and other treatments that are truly coming online. What do you see as possible? What excites you the most as you think about the future and longevity and extending health span?
The most ambitious goal about doing all these things like anti-aging, early prevention, treating the root cause is to make your body able to do things when you’re in your 90s or 100. It’s not about living to 150 or 180 or even being immortal, as some biohackers wish, because I do not think that’s possible. It’s against nature. Aging is inevitable. Nobody can turn their clock back. It’s only in movies. You cannot turn your time back to when you were in your twenties, or even became a baby again.
The goal is to be able to enjoy your life instead of being in the nursing home, assisted living, sitting in the wheelchair, just waiting for the end of life. It’s more about living your full life and still being able to do everything you enjoy when you’re in your 50s or in your 90s and you’re still able to do all those things. The most important thing is you have to reduce the chronic inflammation and make your joints able to move and have good flexibility and good balance. That’s how you can achieve that goal. That’s my goal in my life. I also want to teach other people how to achieve that as well.
Reducing chronic inflammation means that if we’re in our 90s or 100 years old, we can still do the things that we enjoyed doing when we were 50 or 60. I love that vision. I want to ski when I’m in my 90s. I want to play pickleball and golf, and do all kinds of fun things. Also, continue to hike mountains and enjoy the world. It starts now, though.
As early as you can. Do not wait until your joints are already bad, such as when you cannot walk for more than ten minutes, then you start thinking, “Maybe I should do something.” We should start now.

Your book is called The Regeneration Effect. There are six principles for natural longevity. Can you give an overview of that, so that if readers want to, they can dive into those in your book?
The Six Principles of Longevity
The book has six principles based on ancient practices. I also blended stories about my own experience, my mother’s experience, and many of my patients’ experiences into the story to teach you the six principles. We’ve already touched on 3 or 4 of the six principles. Now, I’m going to summarize them again so we know exactly what they are. The number one is, you need to recognize your body’s constitution.
You need to recognize each person’s unique balance in the body. Each person is born with certain strengths and weaknesses. You need to address these strengths and weaknesses from early on, recognize the imbalance caused by your congenital constitution. Also, use your postnatal life to moderate the excess and strengthen the weaknesses in your body so that you can have a perfect balance.
The second principle is early prevention, which we already talked about multiple times during our conversation. The third principle is to treat the root cause, which we also talked about several times, because that’s the essence of Eastern philosophy and traditional Chinese medicine that Western medicine lacks. Western medicine is mostly about treating symptoms, waiting for the symptoms to arise to address them, and they don’t treat the root cause.
The fourth principle is treating your body like a garden. Your body is a natural garden with all its systems interconnected. You have an irrigation system that supplies the energy to ensure your body is functioning correctly. We cannot focus on treating individual body parts, as in Western medicine. It’s not like you have an elbow problem and just treat the elbow without looking at the whole body.
As I mentioned at the beginning of our conversation, sometimes your body’s problem, even though it shows up at certain parts, is somewhere distal or even affecting your whole body’s irrigation system. That’s why it shows up in that particular spot because it’s not getting enough nourishment. You have to address the whole system. In addition to treating the local area where you have the problem. That’s how you can ensure the normal function of the whole body and prevent further symptoms arising from other parts that are caused by the same root cause.
That’s the fourth principle. The fifth principle is to follow our body’s natural rhythm. This is something we also touched upon when talking about earthing, grounding, and connecting your body to the universal energy and to nature. You need to follow the natural flow, and everybody’s life has ebbs and flows. You cannot, when your body’s natural rhythm is in the “chou,” or in the downside, try to push for something hard, because then you’re causing damage to your body. It’s just like you’re swimming against the current, you’ll drain your energy and then you cannot achieve where you want to go.
If you follow the natural rhythm, then the right time to push is. Then you can get to your destination easier, faster. Maybe it’s not at the time you wish you were there, but you’ll get there much easier. That’s something else that most people in Western philosophy or the Western world don’t talk about, because this is Eastern philosophy. The sixth principle, the last one, is that we need to combine everything we talked about that is good for the body, such as nutrition, diet, supplements, sleep, and exercise.
Also, any other modern technologies we can utilize to help us have a healthier lifespan and health span. We have to combine all of them together in the right proportion. We cannot just say, “A stem cell can be the magic bullet.” It doesn’t work that way. Sometimes people call me because they’re looking for a magic bullet for their congestive heart failure or something like that.
I immediately tell them, “You have to have the right environment in your body for the stem cells to work. If you don’t even have the right environment, how do you expect the stem cells to do their magic?” Maybe it can do the magic for a short period of time, but then your body doesn’t have the right circulation, nor does it have the right environment. Eventually, your symptoms will go back to where you were, and even worse.
Thank you for sharing that. I love what you said in number four, “Treat your body like a garden.” We often hear, at least in the West, that your body’s a machine, so treat it like a machine. This is a different framework or a different way of thinking about it and looking at it, that it’s all these interconnected parts. I love that metaphor, that imagery of a garden.
Thank you for sharing those six principles. I love how you put that all together in that framework. People can learn more about that if they want to in your book, which is titled The Regeneration Effect. How do we learn more about your retreat center? Also, if somebody wanted to explore utilizing your services there.
Don’t swim against your body’s natural rhythm. Learn when to push and when to rest for optimal energy.

What a fascinating conversation with Dr. Song. I hope that you gained something from that conversation. There are so many things I want to dive deeper into myself. There’s so many nuggets to take away. We talked about these six principles that are found in her book, which is called The Regeneration Effect. Those six principles, once again, were body constitution, understanding how your body is built to balance within the body, early prevention, treating the root cause, and treating the body like a garden.
I love that metaphor, that it’s not a machine. It’s a garden. It’s much more holistic, organic, and tied together. Following the natural flow or rhythm and combining all of these things with diet, sleep, exercise, new technologies, and some of those other components can help us move the needle a bit once we have that foundation in place.
You can check this out. Her free eBook, Tend the Body like a Garden is available to you. It’s at Gift.RegenerationEffect.com. We also talked a lot about her work with stem cell therapies and mesenchymal stem cells. She does many different treatments, from spinal treatments to joint treatments to full body IV treatments. You can learn more about that at StemCellTherapyExperts.com or her podcast, Stem Cell Talk.
She also has another podcast called The Regeneration Effect. You can find all of that at RegenerationEffect.com. That’s also the title of her book. Thanks for tuning in.
