The front page of August 11th’s Life section of the nationwide newspaper featured an article by Maria Montoya about the changing nutritional tastes of seniors, interviewing Shell Point resident James Arter as an example. Montoya also mentioned the popularity of Shell Point’s restaurants to the outside public, quoting Director of Hospitality Al Slickers as saying, “It’s really amazing what the reaction has been to our menus.”
The article also featured a color photograph of chef Mel Reinhart at the grill, working in the kitchen of The Island’s Crystal Room.

The Mahogany Room – If you’re looking for fine dining in an elegant and intimate atmosphere, look no further than The Mahogany Room, located at The Woodlands at Shell Point. Dress is suggested as slacks and shirt with collar for gentleman. Jackets are welcome but not required.
The Crystal Room – The Crystal Room offers the best in buffet dining for lunch and dinner. Located on The Island’s central circle, this restaurant is open seven days a week and features a generous salad bar, hot buffet, desserts, and constantly changing specials. Call 454-2199 for more info.

The Island Cafe – With fabulous made-to-order breakfasts and daily grill specials, The Island Cafe is a tasty choice. This casual eatery also offers gourmet coffee, deli sandwiches, freshly-baked cookies and pastries, hand-dipped ice cream, and a variety of small grocery items.
HOURS: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday – Sunday
The Promenade Cafe – If you’re looking for a light lunch, or perhaps a breakfast snack to enjoy while reading the morning paper, The Cafe Promenade is for you. Located at The Woodlands, this cafe opens up onto a brick patio overlooking the lake for outdoor dining enjoyment.
