The Legacy Foundation was founded in 2002 as a non-profit organization that provides fiduciary services such as benevolent gift administration, charitable gift annuities, power of attorney and personal surrogate services, bill paying, estate and gift planning assistance, and the delivery of enhanced financial management services to the residents of Shell Point.
“As a credentialed financial planner, Tim Stephenson has the professional experience and personal background to provide outstanding leadership in this position,” said Peter Dys, president of Shell Point. “His technical skills in the insurance and philanthropy professions will ensure the necessary level of expertise to assist our residents in all aspects of planned giving and donor development, while his pastoral training and relevant experience with the C&MA denomination bring the spiritual commitment and sensitivity that is important to the mission and ministry of Shell Point.
Prior to coming to shell Point, Stephenson served as the Senior vice President for Development for the Orchard Foundation of The Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination, which is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His background also includes experience in insurance and investment services with the Prudential Insurance Company of America.
Stephenson is a graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College, with additional studies at Asbury Theological Seminary and the University of Kentucky, and further graduate study at The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania in financial services with an emphasis on philanthropic planning, where he received his Chartered Financial Consultant degree.
