The Academy of Lifelong Learning at Shell Point welcomes to its Fall Academy Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation Education Director Kristie Anders and award-winning maritime author, lecturer and TV commentator Robert Macomber.
Anders will present “A Post-Calusa History of Captiva and Pine Island Sound” on Friday, Nov.1 from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. in the Social Center on The Island at Shell Point.
“Kristie’s enthusiasm, knowledge and educated perspective make each of her sessions a special learning experience,” said Teri Kollath, Manager of Volunteer Services and The Academy at Shell Point.
During “Inside the Story – ‘Honors Rendered,’ ” Macomber will share the fascinating historical information he learned on location while researching the 11th novel in his “Honor” series on Wednesday, Nov. 6 from 2:15 to 3:45 a.m. in the Social Center on the Island at Shell Point.

The Academy of Lifelong Learning at Shell Point is an educational initiative for the residents of the retirement community. The Academy provides approximately 80 classes each semester that encompass a well-rounded curriculum of educational opportunities for senior adults.
