Quilt enthusiasts are invited to attend the free Shell Point 28th Biennial Quilt Show in the Social Center on The Island. The quilt show will take place on Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday, March 8, from noon to 4 p.m.; and Monday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Feature displays will highlight quilts based on this year’s theme, “Sea of Colors.” Bright hues will be featured in both hand-stitched and machine-quilted pieces, ranging from everyday and vintage items to large bed quilts. Plus, two special quilts will be available for purchase by silent auction, and the winners will be notified at the conclusion of the show.
“From heirloom quilts to modern creations, the variety and workmanship will impress even experienced quilters,” said Debbie Melchi, Shell Point resident and avid quilter.
Entertainment by Shell Point musicians, an orchid display from Shell Point’s award-winning Orchid House, and four on-site restaurant choices make for a fun weekend outing. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call volunteer coordinator Melody Desilets at 239-454-2290.
