Event Attracts More Than 1,000 Attendees
FORT MYERS, Fla. (November 20, 2007) – Shell Point Retirement Community recently hosted more than 1,000 people at an event that showcased all the departments and groups associated with the community. On Friday, November 9, the Village Church grounds and auditorium at Shell Point were transformed into “CELEBRATION – A Day in the Life at Shell Point.”
Over 100 resident volunteer, activity and service groups displayed their traditions and talents, including the Academy, Train Room, Pavilion Auxiliary, Quilters and Orchid House just to name a few. Shell Point residents were also introduced to new activities as well, like the Paddlers Club, the Spanish Group, and the Bead Club while enjoying performances on the main stage by resident groups, such as line dancers, drama, jazz and more.
Shell Point departments also set up booths for residents and their guests to learn more about the “behind the scenes” work done on the property from Sales, Marketing, Administration, and Recreation to Health Care, Food Services and Housekeeping. Almost all the guests stopped by the “Ask the President Booth” where Mr. Peter Dys, president of Shell Point Retirement Community, was standing by to discuss anything that was on the minds of the residents and visitors alike. The activity was just as lively outside with more food and entertainment, including a juggling mime and a resident band that created a festive atmosphere.
Shell Point Retirement Community is a continuing care retirement community located in Fort Myers just off Summerlin road, two miles before the Sanibel causeway. Shell Point is a nationally recognized leader in the retirement industry.
