FORT MYERS, FL (May 28, 2008) – Marjorie Pregent has joined the Shell Point Pavilion as the new Director of Nursing, according to Steve Minnear, Vice President of Health Care Services for Shell Point Retirement Community.
“Marjorie Pregent will be an exceptional director, and brings a wealth of experience and many certifications to the Shell Point Pavilion,” said Minnear. “Ms. Pregent has already provided sound input and creative ideas and has made plans to expand on the services for the residents in the Pavilion.”
Prior to joining Shell Point, Pregent has served as a Director of Nursing working with Interdisciplinary Teams to strive for excellence in the delivery of care to patients/residents needing Rehabilitation; Dementia Care, Hospice Care and Long Term Care Services. As a Director of Nursing, she developed Rehabilitation Programs accredited by CARF and JCAHO in the Subacute/LTC setting, all with successful New York State and Florida State Surveys.
Pregent’s experience includes working as an RN in the Rehabilitation/LTC Field for 25 years. She attended Crouse Irving School of Nursing located on the Syracuse University Campus in Syracuse NY and has received National certification as a Registered Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN) and a Certified Nurse Assessment Coordinator (CRNAC). She has been in Nursing Administration for the past 18 years with experiences that include Director of Clinical/Financial Reimbursement for a Non-for-profit organization with a 500 bed Skilled Nursing Facility/Assisted Living and a PACE Program; Corporate Clinical Information Systems Coordinator for Elderwood Senior Care (Top 50 Nursing Home in Fortune 500 2007) overseeing 9 facilities and Developed a Network of 800 Physicians for a PPO for HealthBest through a Grant with SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse New York.
The Pavilion at Shell Point is a fully skilled nursing facility and medical center that offers many additional services to residents such as onsite Hope Hospice Care and Alzheimer’s care.
