Shell Point installs new EV charging stations
FORT MYERS, Fla. (Nov. 14, 2023) – Shell Point recently increased the number of Electric Vehicle (EV) chargers across its 700-acre campus. The community now boasts 18 Blink EV charging stations for resident, visitor, and employee use in the Island, Woodlands, and Enclave neighborhoods.
“As an industry leader, we strive to offer our current and future residents the most up-to-date amenities and sought-after services,” said Adam Hinds, Vice President of Operations.“Adding EV charging stations supports Shell Point’s environmental stewardship initiatives and enhances the appeal of our community to those who already own an electric vehicle, or who might consider one if the ability to charge is nearby.”
Shell Point resident Bruce Findley said safety was one of the primary factors in his decision to purchase an EV last year.
“I applaud Shell Point for adding this EV infrastructure, and I appreciate the convenience of knowing I can charge my car close to my home.”
Over the past decade, electric vehicles have steadily gained in popularity in the United States. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, California had the greatest number of registered electric vehicles in 2022 followed by Florida, where the number of registered EVs increased more than 75% between 2021 and 2022.
