The Academy of Lifelong Learning at Shell Point presents The Grandeur of British Painting on Tuesdays, July 14, 21, and 28 from 10:15 to 11:45 a.m. in the Social Center on The Island at Shell Point Retirement Community.
Dorothy “Dottie” Magen, M.Ed. will present a three-part art history series that begins with portraiture by Sir Joshua Reynolds, Sir Thomas Lawrence, and Thomas Gainsborough. Session Two continues with a study of 18th and 19th century landscapes and portraits. Session Three will bring the series to a close with a focus on Constable, Turner, and other painters.

The Academy of Lifelong Learning at Shell Point is an educational initiative for the residents of the retirement community. The Academy provides approximately 80 classes each semester that encompass a well-rounded curriculum of educational opportunities for senior adults.
