Artists of Shell Point Retirement Community have been preparing for the past 12 months in anticipation of the upcoming Shell Point Art Show and Sale. The Southwest Florida community is invited to attend this free event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 20, and Saturday, March 21, in The Woodlands at Shell Point.
This year’s show will feature talented artists and a variety of media, including sculpture, photography, paintings, stained glass, woodworking, pottery, lapidary, collage, and more. All items on display are created by Shell Point residents, and each artist will showcase his or her medium, while giving viewers the opportunity to purchase one-of-a-kind gifts. Plus, each artist will be present to discuss the artistic process and inspiration behind each piece.
“Thousands of people have attended this annual show throughout the years, and the quality of work is outstanding,” said Melody Desilets, Shell Point volunteer coordinator and art show organizer.

“Many residents who live here were professional artists in the past, while others have developed their artistic skills during retirement. For some, art has become a primary form of emotional expression, and their work reflects that transcendent quality,” said Augusta Crane, Shell Point resident artist.
The 2015 Shell Point Art Show and Sale will be held on two floors of the Woodlands Commons, located in The Woodlands at Shell Point, at 14441 Woodsong Lane, Fort Myers. Admittance is free; however, fine art is available for purchase by cash or check only. An on-site ATM will be available. For questions or more information, please call 239-454-2290.
