Newsweek names Shell Point among “America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities”
FORT MYERS, Fla. (Jan. 2, 2024) – Shell Point has been recognized among “America’s Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities 2024” by Newsweek, earning the 13th spot among all Florida CCRCs and ranking 73rd in the United States.
The prestigious award includes the top 250 CCRCs in the nation as presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
“This recognition underscores our dedication to delivering unparalleled care and enriching living experiences for our residents,” said Shell Point President Martin Schappell. “The well-being and satisfaction of our community members are at the core of everything we do, and this award reflects the hard work and commitment of our entire team.”
Newsweek and Statista based the rankings on three data sources, including national online surveys from medical professionals and CCRC residents; quality dimension scores; and relevant CCRC accreditations, including those from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Data were collected in the 20 states with the most CCRCs: California, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, and Virginia.
