Shell Point has announced the roster for its 2016-2017 Medical Breakthroughs & Discoveries speaker series, a free community healthcare resource for residents in the greater Fort Myers area.
This educational series will feature prominent local and national experts who will address recent advances in the fields of joint replacement, grief recovery, genomics, and oncology:
- Thursday, Dec. 8, 2:15 p.m. – Advances in Minimally Invasive Hip and Knee Replacement with orthopedic surgeon Dr. Daniel Harmon, Lee Health
- Thursday, Jan. 5, 2:15 p.m. – Grief Is a Journey: Dealing with Loss As We Age with Dr. Kenneth Doka, professor of gerontology at College of New Rochelle and senior consultant to the Hospice Foundation of America
- Monday, Feb. 13, 2:15 p.m. – Genomics & Precision Medicine: One Size Healthcare Does Not Fit All with cancer epidemiologist Dr. Alexander Parker, Mayo Clinic
- Tuesday, March 28, 2:15 p.m. – Shifting Landscapes: Controversies, Updates, and Advances for Prostate Cancer with radiation oncologist Dr. Jason Efstathiou, Massachusetts General Hospital
