Economic prospects, employment, national security and the American way of life are at stake. In a highly engaging presentation, recognized international oil authority Dr. Moors will answer the following questions:

  • How much oil is left?
  • Why are oil prices rising?
  • What can the public and the government do about it?

Chris Wallace — Veteran Journalist and Host of Fox News Sunday

Barrie M. Schwortz — Shroud of Turin Photographer
The Shroud of Turin is a centuries old linen cloth that bears the image of a crucified man. A man that millions believe to be Jesus of Nazareth. Is it really the cloth that wrapped his crucified body, or is it simply a medieval forgery, a hoax perpetrated by some clever artist? Modern science has completed hundreds of thousands of hours of detailed study and intense research on the Shroud. It is in fact, the most studied artifact in human history.

Barrie Schwortz was the Official Documenting Photographer for the Shroud of Turin Research Project, the team that conducted the first in-depth scientific examination of the Shroud in 1978. Today, he plays an influential role in the Shroud research. Mr. Schwortz has conducted Shroud lectures around the world and is frequently called upon as a leading imaging expert. He has participated in programs on the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, the Learning Channel, the National Geographic Channel, CNN, CBS, NBC, PBS, and BBC. His photographs have appeared in hundreds of books and publications including Time Magazine, Life, Newsweek, and National Geographic as well as in countless television documentaries.

At the invitation of the Organizing Committee of the Third International Shroud of Turin Symposium, Mr. Schwortz presented his paper titled, “The Role of the Internet in the Future of Shroud Research” in Turin, Italy. More recently he presented a new paper titled “Is the Shroud of Turin a Medieval Photograph?” at the Sindone 2000 International Symposium in Orvieto, Italy. He continues to participate in Shroud research using the latest digital imaging technologies and has co-authored a book with Ian Wilson titled, “The Turin Shroud: The Illustrated Evidence.”

Barrie Schwortz will share the 30 year history of the Shroud, key scientific elements about the Shroud, behind the scenes accounts with the research team, and his own personal story of how the Shroud of Turin has impacted his life.
