FORT MYERS, Fla. ( February 12, 2015) – More than 1,000 Shell Point residents gathered on Jan. 30, 2015 for Shell Point Retirement Community’s annual Gala event, which celebrated Shell Point’s 47th anniversary and continued success. Themed “Possible,” the event examined what Shell Point has made possible in the lives of its residents, considered possibilities for future success, and recognized the achievements of 2014.
During the program, Shell Point President Peter Dys shared his reflections on Shell Point’s culture of generosity and thanked residents for sharing their time, treasure, and talents with the community. Dys then surprised David Moreland, vice president of sales and marketing, with a Lifetime Achievement Award to honor Moreland’s 31 years of service to Shell Point.
Fourteen-year-old piano prodigy Ethan Bortnik entertained guests with his uplifting and memorable collection of melodies. The talented young musician even composed a special song about Shell Point and performed it during the evening
