The Academy of Lifelong Learning at Shell Point presents “Introduction to Russian Zhostovo Folk Art” course on four Tuesdays, Nov. 4, 11, 18, and 25 from 9 a.m. to noon in the Sabal Room in the Woodlands Commons at Shell Point Retirement Community.
Presenter Pat Smelkoff will teach a few basic strokes as you practice to paint Russian flowers, leaves and borders. Using the #4 and #6 filberts, you will learn flat, comma, crescent “c” and “s” stroke and the leaf stroke. With a liner, you will create beautiful borders and filler strokes. This is an acrylic class, and you will leave with some examples of your work.

The Academy of Lifelong Learning at Shell Point is an educational initiative for the residents of the retirement community.
