FORT MYERS, FL (March 12, 2008) – Brian J. French has been named as the new General Manager for the Country Inn & Suites located in Fort Myers at the entrance to Shell Point Retirement Community according to Timothy Ficker, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Shell Point Retirement Community.
“Brian French has the professional experience and personal background to provide outstanding management to the Country Inn and Suites,” said Ficker. “Mr. French has already provided sound input and creative ideas and has made plans to expand on the services and amenities offered at the hotel.”
Prior to coming to Shell Point, French served as the Assistant General Manager for the Best Western Airport Inn located in Fort Myers. He has also been the Assistant General Manager for a Holiday Inn and Express in Birmingham Michigan, and a General Manager for the Inn on Ferry Street in Detroit Michigan.
French received his Hotel Management education through the Intercontinental Hotels and attended Central Michigan University and Cornerstone University. He currently resides in Fort Myers with his wife, Amy and he has a son Brandon living in Virginia. Along with his experience in hospitality, Brian French served in the U.S. Navy.
The Country Inn & Suites opened in 2001, offering 112 rooms (30 percent of which are suites) in the four story hotel. It also offers conference rooms, a heated swimming pool, continental breakfast, fitness center and high speed internet access. Several meeting rooms offer meeting space for up to 70 people. The hotel welcomes pets for a modest additional fee.
